4. Kings de Dalnzatie.
The Slavic took Dalmatie with from Avares and founded there a kingdom which preserved a certain independence until the end of the XI century, in spite of ceaseless fights with the surrounding countries. The chronology of its sovereigns offers much darkness. One can regard as good founded the following mentions, collected by the Lucius scientist, historian of the country (Of regno Dalmatie, in Schwandtner, script. the RER. Hong., T. III, p. 126). After the death of Etienne II. that Lucius calls rcx Dalmatie and Croatia tanned, Dalmatie was divided between the république of Venice and Hungary. The treaty of Campo-Formio (1797) gave the country to Austria, with Venice itself.
