He criticized Western countries for attempting to "strangle" North Korea and described the sanctions as outdated and disconnected from reality.

This explanation did little to quell the criticism from Western diplomats. The US Deputy Ambassador to the UN, Robert Wood, condemned Russia's decision, arguing it threatened global security.

John Kirby, National Security spokesperson for the White House, echoed this sentiment, labeling Russia's move as reckless.

Russian Troops Shot Down Yet Another Ukrainian Helicopter (Video)

On April 3, the Russian military shot down a helicopter of Kiev forces between the settlements of Artemovsk, also known as Bakhmut, and Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk direction.

Video footage showing the wreckage of the helicopter burning was posted to social media. While some Russian news sources said that the helicopter was a Mi-24 gunship, others identified it as one of the modernized Mi-35s recently donated to Ukraine by the Czech Republic.
