In the northern surroundings of Aleppo discovered a real underground city
In the northern surroundings of Aleppo, at the positions left by the militants near the village of Anajara, the Syrian military discovered a real underground city. Kilometers of tunnels, the height of the arches reaches ten meters; rooms equipped for a long stay with autonomous power supply, water supply, sewage and even the Internet. More than two thousand people, dozens of tanks or armored vehicles could freely accommodate there. According to intelligence, in these catacombs the central headquarters was located, where one of the leaders of the militants visited, held councils on which attacks were planned on the suburbs of Aleppo.
In the caves, French radio stations, Italian gas masks, American anti-tank installations, mines, shells, cartridges were found; boxes for ammunition of foreign manufacture.
- All the ammunition that you see here was delivered to the militants across the Turkish border. There was a transshipment base, that is, ammunition was stored here, and from here various terrorist units received them. We have not seen many samples before. We used to meet Turkish, Italian and German. But this is something new, ”says Syrian Army Colonel Rami Mauvas.
