Ukraine's Air Force reports, a Russian Il-22 air control centre probably survived the attack but cannot be restored.

As Ihnat explains, an A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft has been a priority target for Ukraine's Armed Forces. And until now, the destruction of this aircraft seemed an impossible task for the Air Force. However, on the night of 14-15 January, the Defence Forces managed to hit an A-50 and an Il-22 (air command post).


"Two juicy targets at once! I am proud to serve in the Air Force of Ukraine’s Armed Forces!", the officer adds.

・Reports appeared on Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels on the evening of 14 January about thedowning of a Russian A-50 reconnaissance aircraft and damage to an Il-22M, which was partially confirmed this morning by Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, and Ukrainska Pravda’s sources in the Ukrainian government.

・On the morning of 15 January, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,confirmed that the Ukrainian Air Force had downed two important Russian planes: an airborne early warning system (AWACS) aircraft and an airborne command centre.

Gluposti. Ginu Ukrajinci iz cijele zemlje za slobodu svoga naroda. Groblja ne lažu koliko je ko doprinosi borbi protiv agresora.
 
Rusi koriste dronove , specijalno napravljene da i izbacuju 3 bombe , pa zato i kazu kao Karpet , bombardiranje.

MOSCOW, January 16 – RIA Novosti. Russian forces in a number of directions in the Northern Military District zone have begun carpet bombing of Ukrainian positions using special Inferno drone bombers, RIA Novosti was told in the development company Rustekhdron.
"
“The Inferno drone is equipped with nine slots for dropping grenades. During a combat mission, it passes over Ukrainian trenches, opens bomb bays and drops grenades in series of three. It turns out to be an analogue of carpet bombing in large aviation. As a result, enemy personnel receive casualties and wounded. The drone can also effectively bomb lightly armored vehicles," a company representative said.
According to him, Rustekhnodron has already transferred hundreds of Inferno unmanned bombers to units in the Northern Military District zone.

The company representative added that the drone does not need to hover over the trenches due to the presence of an additional downward bombing camera - the device throws bombs in motion. This dramatically increases the survivability of drones, while a hovering drone can be shot down with small arms fire.
"Inferno" carries four kilograms of combat load, which can include VOG-17, GP-25 grenades and specially manufactured factory ammunition for dropping from copters with fragmentation and cumulative types of warheads. The range of the UAV is five kilometers.
The Inferno drone belongs to the FPV drones; the Rustekhnodron company today is the only one in Russia that produces FPV drones with a bombing function.
An FPV drone (First-Person View) is a drone whose front camera transmits an image to the operator’s video glasses, creating the feeling of flying in airspace. FPV drones require some experience to control, as they usually lack stabilization and have a higher flight speed compared to other UAVs of similar types.
