Indija napala? Pokrenuta akcija protiv Pakistana VIDEO

Latest satellite images show damage in Pakistan

Satellite pictures released on Wednesday evening by Maxar Technologies show damage at two known locations in Pakistan that were struck by the Indian army.

The imagery - taken before and after the strikes - show visible damage at both Bahawalpur and Nangal Sahdan in the Pakistani province of Punjab.

India says 16 civilians killed in Pakistani firing

India says 16 people, including three women and five children, have died due to Pakistani firing since Wednesday morning. The earlier death toll was 15.

In the statement that we were reporting from earlier, India said that Pakistan "has increased the intensity of unprovoked firing" across the Line of Control - the de facto border that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan.

It said Islamabad was using mortars and heavy calibre artillery in areas in Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar and Rajouri sectors in Jammu and Kashmir - and that the Indian army had responded to halt this mortar and artillery fire.

India says it 'neutralised' an air defence system in Lahore

The Indian statement adds it targeted Air Defence Radars and systems across "a number of locations" in Pakistan.

"It has been reliably learnt that an Air Defence system at Lahore has been neutralised," it said.

The statement does not give more details about how India targeted the systems. But as we have been reporting, Pakistan has claimed it shot down 25 Indian drones since last night. And India claims that Pakistan sent "drones and missiles" to a number of places in India.

  • Delhi said it targeted nine sites. Pakistan later said six locations were hit
  • Islamabad has claimed several times that it shot down five Indian jets and at least one drone; India has not confirmed this
  • Pakistan said 31 people had been killed and 57 injured in India's action
  • India's army said 15 people, including one army personnel, were killed by Pakistani shelling on its side of the Line of Control (LoC), the de facto border that divides Kashmir between the neighbours
  • Indian army says cross-border shelling continues at the LoC and that it's responding to "unprovoked firing" from Pakistan's side
  • The Indian government is currently holding an all-party meeting to brief political leaders on the strike

China 'not familiar' with claims its jets were used by Pakistan

China's foreign ministry has said it was "not familiar with the matter" when asked whether Chinese jets were being used in the India-Pakistan conflict.

That comes after Pakistan's prime minister repeated the claim that five Indian fighter jets were downed by his country's air force (see 14.09 post from yesterday).

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar claimed Beijing had been kept up to date on the military action as soon as India's strikes began.

It's worth noting that India's government has not verified the claims of its jets being shot down.

Pakistanska vojska: Indija počinila i drugi čin agresije, dron stigao blizu prestonice
