Muzika Heavy Metala se odlikuje snaznim i jakim izvodjenjem ritam i solo deonica na gitari.Kazem prvenstveno na instrumentu zvanom elektricna gitara.
Naravno da imamo heavy metal bendova koje svoje muzicko umece iskazuju kroz snaznim sviranjem na bubnjevima, basu ili organu/klavijaturama u sklopu heavy metal zvuka.
Glavne korene heavy metal zvuka mozem naci u ranim danima pojave rock 'n' rolle zvuka.Od njih se moze izdvojiti zvuk Chuck Berry-ja.
Mozemo reci direktno da heavy metal vodi poreklo iz ritam & blues i rock 'n' rolle zvuka.
Takodje mozemo nabrojiti neke grupe za koje mozemo reci da su zasluzne za nastanak heavy metala a to su:
The Who, Jimi Hendrix,Yardbirds, Cream a kasnije Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath itd.

hevi metal je nastao jednog kisnog jutra, kada je jedan masni klinac ustao i nije znao sta ce sa sobom, i onda je otiso u kuhinju da nesto klopne, i onako jos sanjiv izvukao je tanjir sa dna i sve serpe su pocele da padaju oko njega sa zveketom, a on je poceo da vristi iz sveg glasa....
tako je nastao metal 8)
