The day after Tom-Ovrebro
There hasn`t been this much Doom and Gloom since the "Big One" was fired last February.
I must admit that I`m probably not the only one who will contribute his feelings about last night, however, I`m moving on (as much as I can) and I urge you to follow!
In the grand scheme of things I have to say, this has possibly been the best football season ever.
"Why, we haven`t won anything!" I hear you cry, well, trust me on this, we DO have something to cheer about.....
Chelsea FC has made it into five consecutive Champions League semi-finals (and one final) since 2004.
I can safely say, through my blue-tinted glasses, what an achievement!
But wait, there`s more....
It`s been pre-named the "summer of splurge!" because Mr Abramovich has promised a whopping £50m for us to spend on a "special" player.
The board of exec`s has also finally pulled their fingers out of their ears and will sell some players - here`s hoping Malouda goes, even considering his recent performances.
We will be getting a new manager (again) and I`m sure many of you - like me - can`t wait to find out who it could be...more restless nights are in order...not including the ones with the girlfriend!
At the beginning of the year I was worrying myself stupid that Chelsea were slowly imploding, not helped by the rumours that Mr A was about to sell-up!
However, look when we are now, another semi-final under our belt, another F.A Cup final and another season just behind Man U in the league - not that that`s a good thing - but considering we were "in-risk" of not even finishing fifth, back in December, it must be seen as a success.
Drogba is back to his best. OLASAL has already commented on the Ivorians, errmm, rather angry display last night, but at least he`s passionate - let`s not forget Moscow 2008.
Anelka is also the second top goal scorer in the League, and proving well worth the £15m pocket-change we paid for him.
It promises to be a great season next year....and I know we all said that this time last May, but there really is something in the air.
Who knows, we might even be the one English team, UEFA "allows" to get into the final of the Champions League next year.
Anyway, let`s focus on Wembley, 30 May, for what will (hopefully) be painted blue!
