[01/26] Ronaldinho: 'Shevchenko is the World's Most Dangerous Attacker'
With Barcelona set to face Chelsea in the Champions League knock-out phase next month, Ronaldinho has set off some sparks in Spain with the selection of his European dream team.
The Brazilian star chose six Chelsea players – and none of his league-leading Barcelona teammates.
Czech Republic goalkeeper Petr Cech, England defender John Terry and midfielder Frank Lampard, French midfielder Claude Makelele, and strikers Didier Drogba and Eidur Gudjohnsen are all included in the fantasy team.
“Cech has proved at Chelsea that he is the best young goalkeeper in Europe,” Ronaldinho said.
“In defence, John Terry is my first choice because he is Chelsea’s leader and has developed into a very sound defender. I chose Makelele simply because he is quite simply the best holding midfield player in the world and I chose Lampard because of his incredible vision.”
Gudjohnsen and Drogba would partner Milan’s Andrei Shevchenko attack.
“Shevchenko is very special,” Ronaldinho said.
“His individual class, quality as well as speed set him apart and make him the world’s most dangerous attacker.”
