They've always been right on Kosovo. If Clinton hadn't insisted on joining with the Euro-dhimmis to provide the jihadist with an airforce in both Bosnia and Kosovo, or Bush had had the sense to reverse-field and start siding with the Serbs on the basis of the manifest links between al Qaeda and both the Bosnian Islamists supporting Izetgebovic and and the KLA, we might have good relations with Russia and their help against the jihad, instead of Putin's stupid balance-of-power games trying to use Iran as a counterweight to us the way Britain used to use Prussia vis-a-vis France.

Well dang. All cuz of Kosovo, huh? That *****. Russia would have made a good ally to us. Imagine all their nuclear power and all our nuclear power waved in front of North Korea to give 'em a taste of what they'd be up against. That'd scare the crap outta Kim Jong-Il for sure.

I'm not sure it's entirely because of giving Russian (and Orthodox Christian) interests in the Balkans the equivalent of a sharp stick in the eye, but I trace the beginnings of bad post-Soviet US-Russian relations to the Wars of the Yugoslav Dissolution.
