Chapter Seven
After finding out that his so-called powers were fake, and that his mother's note was indeed a fake, Harry was set out to find the truth. Who had written the note? Why would they impersonate his mother? How did they know that Harry was to visit the graves? All these thoughts were blazened into his brain.
Lupin had been a tremendous help in all of Harry's wonders, and agreed to help him investigate. He told Harry that it was because of his mother and his duty to renounce her memory, that made him do it.
Hogwarts, was decidedly, not to open again this year. So said the note that was sent to Harry one late afternoon. That's means that for his seventh year of schooling, he would be home-schooled. Only, as Lupin would be busy with the Order, Mrs. Weasley agreed to take in both he and Hermione, so they could school with Ron.
It is now that we join Harry, as he unpacks his things into the tiny room that would soon be his residence for the following year. This room had been Bill's, seeing as he moved into Fleur's new house. Fred and George's room had been given to Hermione, to her demise, as they had their own flat along with their joke shop that they now owned.
Taking Dumbledore's old possessions out of his trunk, he looked them over for a second. Maybe Dumbledore knew something about this R.A.B. business. Gripping his wand rather tightly, he prodded the silver substance in the pensieve until the strand of silver wisps were visible. Unknowing of what was to happen, Harry entered the memory.
He was in an empty corridor. Of Hogwarts, apparently. Taking in his surroundings gave him a chill. This was the very same corridor that he had fought in only a few months ago. Walking around the corner, he heard faint footsteps.
Following the slightly-springing taps, Harry was suddenly curious of who this person was, and what year this is. But most of his wonders were answered as he rounded yet another corner and saw who this person was.
At five feet, six inches, Lily Evans was not a short-type of girl. Especially for a seventh-year, claimed the shiny Head Girl badge on her robes. She looked confused, and worried. She looked around suspiciously, looking for someone, she had apparently a meeting with. For a second, her eyes seemed to linger on Harry, and he jumped. Not taking her eyes off him, she exclaimed, "There you are. I've been looking all over for you."
It was then Harry realized that she had not been looking at him but behind him. Behind his figure was the one and only Remus Lupin, with graying hair, even as a seventeen year old. He nodded at her. "Is he here yet."
She shook her head. "No, he isn't. I just got here myself a few minutes ago." Lily sighed. "I never knew it would be this dangerous, Remus. I'd never thought." She looked away from him. "Just a few days ago, I had to watch as poor Relfkern was murdered right in front of me. I couldn't even flinch in fear of suspicion."
Remus wore a sad frown. "Relfkern was only a few years younger than us wasn't he? A fifth year?"
Lily nodded. "A fifth year with his father in the wrong sort of friends. It was terrifying."
A sudden arrival at the door showed lastly the visitor they waited for had finally come. He wore a deep green cloak over his regular school robes. His black hair cut short, was still as long as his ears. His peircing purple eyes were wary. In his hands, he held a box.
Regulus looked at Lily, then Remus. He nodded. "Good to know you came on time. I'd thought that at least Potter or Longbottom would have kept you two held up." Opening the small box, he withdrew three bags from it. Handing two to Remus, and one to Lily. The pair seemed confused at this.
The Black motioned to Lily. "That's a longer lasting Polyjuice Potion. Takes effect for a week at a time. That should be enough for a month. Next month, come back to me for more." Lily muttered a thanks. He shrugged. "No need for a thanks. We just need to get our jobs done right."
"So, what are these?"asked Remus. Regulus replied. "One is a wolfsbane potion, and the other is also a Polyjuice." Remus nodded.
Regulus seemed to move onto a more important matter. "News is of a raid in Hogsmeade this Saturday. Be sure to be ready then. As you know, any mistakes can cause our lives."
The pair still kept their determined faces.
"You know, I like you two,"said Regulus. "Braver than the most of Gryffindor, to deal with the other side."
At this point, Harry was brought out of the memory, his thoughts running. Dealing with the other side? Polyjuice potion? Raids? What did it all mean? And if it was Dumbledore's memory, where was Dumbledore? And James? And Sirius? What was Lily and Remus doing with a Slytherin?
His thoughts were broken as a voice from downstairs called him.
"HARRY! RON! HERMIONE! GINNY! COULD YOU ALL PLEASE COME DOWN FOR DINNER?"Mrs. Weasley's voice shrieked
Okay--the mystery to be solved in this chapter:
"How was Dumbledore able to see what happened in the penseive if he wasn't seen by Harry?"
And no, he wasn't invisible...
