Quote 1:
The term "Arberesh" originated in Albania and is still used by some southern Albanians, although the name "Shqipetar" is becoming popular. The name "Arberesh" is believed to be of Norman origin. When the Normans arrived in Albania during the thirteenth century they called the region "Arborea", and referred to the people as forest dwellers.

Quote 2:
Albanian race designates itself by two general names: the name of Mirdites, derived from Persian Mardaites (braves), now applies to the noblest part of the population, and seems like the words German, Slav, Frank, having been originally a title of honor; name Shkipetars (inhabitants of the rocks) designates the people in general.

i) Later on (in the 9th century), a part of the Mardaïtes moved to the themes of the Peloponnese, Nicopolis (including the lands of Epiros and Etoloakarnania) and Kephalenia; in those regions they continued to serve as crew members of thematic fleets.6 Towards the late 9th century, the Mardaïtes of the Peloponnese took part in the campaigns in Sicily, while in 911 and 949 a large number of Mardaïtes from the three themes (more than 5000 in the first case, 3000 in the second) participated in the campaigns against the Arabs of Crete.

ii) The settlement of the Mardaïtes in Asia Minor and mainland Greece affected the ethnological composition of the population in those regions. According to a document of the Latin sovereigns of Corfu dated 1365, which ratifies an earlier (1246) decree of Michael II, the ruler of Epirus, referring to a «decarhia Mardatorum»

2) Sathas says that the Mardaites were divided into two bodies, of which one was scattered throughout Hellas (Greece), especially Epirus, where to the present day their descendants are called Mirdites, while the other division was ultimately settled in the Cibyraiot theme.

drugi oblici-primjeri negacija.
znaci imamo razlicite izraza negacija : JO, NUK, S' , MOS, . . .
kao na srpskome, ne, necu, nemoj, itd.

takoje.

Viennese researchers upset traditionally minded Albanians by pouring cold water on the theory that the Albanian language has its roots in Ancient Illyria.

Matzinger points put that when the few surviving fragments of Illyrian and Albanian are compared, they have almost nothing in common.
“The two are opposites and cannot fit together,” he says. “Albanian is not as the same as Illyrian from a linguistic point of view.”

@Carlin15

Interesantna stvar piše u toj knjizi na str. 161-162:

"The emin-i defter specifies whether they are Albanian (Arnavudan); these are both the Albanians and the Albanian Vlachs that settled in the area in the late fourteenth century, ..."
"It should be noted however that the extent to which many apparently Slavic or Slav-origin toponyms derive from Albanian immigrants who settled in Greece and were bearers of Slavic toponym is a problem open to researh"
