Moments ago in the southern countryside of the Kuweires Military Airport, the Syrian Arab Army’s elite special operations division known as the “Tiger Forces” reportedly broke-through the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) last line of defense at ‘Aqulah and entered this imperative village near Kaskays and Sheikh Ahmad.
According to a battlefield journalist that is entrenched with the Tiger Forces in the Deir Hafer Plains, the Tiger Forces – in coordination with Hezbollah, Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary), and the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City – entered the village of ‘Aqulah after killing over 20 enemy combatants and destroying the terrorist group’s machine gun nest.
Meanwhile, west of the Kuweires Military Airport, the Syrian Arab Army’s 2nd Division – alongside Hezbollah – advanced along the Aleppo-Raqqa Highway, cutting off the seasonal road that leads to the Siyasko Chemical Factory; this leaves the ISIS militants protecting this facility under siege.
For the first time this year, ISIS finds itself in a world of trouble inside the Deir Hafer Plains, as the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies continue to advance from every direction around the Kuweires Military Airport.
If the Syrian Armed Forces can keep the momentum going, they will be in position to reach the ISIS stronghold of Deir Hafer, which is considered the halfway distance between Raqqa and Aleppo.
