"Piece of Me" is a song written by Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg, and Klas Åhlund and recorded by American singer Britney Spears. It is the second single from Spears' fifth studio album Blackout. "Piece of Me" debuted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 at number sixty-five, and at number thirty-seven on the Canadian Hot 100 for the week of November 17, 2007. The track will be released for radio airplay on November 27, 2007 in the U.S.[1]and November 30, 2007 in the U.K. Despite these dates, it is already playing on radio stations across Canada and the United States.

Production on the music video which is directed by Wayne Isham is due to begin on Tuesday November 27, 2007.


"Piece of Me" has been generally well-received by music critics.

Chuck Taylor, Billboard writer and editor, also positively approved the song saying:
“ So guess who got the last laugh? "Piece of Me" has already fostered scrutiny with lyrical response to obsessive media attention: "I'm Mrs. Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, I'm Mrs. Oh my God that Britney's shameless/ I'm Mrs. 'Extra,' 'Extra,' this just in, I'm Mrs. she's too big, now she's too thin." Musically, the song drips and drools '80s synths, alongside a drowsy midtempo clip, as Brit sings in a heavily layered near-monotone. Again, the cover of Us will be as big a catalyst for radio as vocal prowess. "

Rihanna's "Push Up On Me," which was produced by Rotem, was originally to be given to Britney, but the track was sold to her when Britney entered rehab in spring 2007 (many of the tracks on her album "Good Girl Gone Bad" were also originally meant for Britney).
"Britney Spears was offered the chance to record "Umbrella," before Rihanna made it a number one hit - but the pop princess turned it down, says American music producer Tricky Stewart - who created the track – has confessed Spears was given first option on the song. He made the revelation to British singer/songwriter Taio Cruz. Cruz says, "I was working with Tricky in his studio the day he finished Umbrella. As soon as I heard it I said, 'That is a smash, I have to have it,' but he told me it was on hold for Britney." "He waited but Britney's people never called him back."


Jadna moja Britney, zbog rehabilitacije ostala bez velikog hita... ali uspela je i bez te pesme da se probije na vrh! :D
