VELIKI SHEVA SE VRATIO !!!

[06/01] Sheva, Mourinho and Kenyon Talk

Andriy Shevchenko has responded to José Mourinho’s claim that the player has always been his first choice for Chelsea. Mourinho meanwhile has confirmed that he can see the new arrival working in tandom with Didier Drogba.
Speaking to Chelsea TV after putting paper on his four year contract, Shevchenko said of Mourinho’s long-term hope: “They are strong words for me and I am very happy that Mr. Mourinho said them, especially as they are words coming from one of the best managers in the world.
“I am looking forward to proving on the field that he was right when he said that. I have spoken to him for a long time and I feel that he is a very special person and a very clever man, as well as someone who knows a lot about football.”
The new club record signing from Italy’s Serie A backed himself to hit the ground running when the new Premiership campaign kicks-off.
“I hope I can adapt quickly,” he said, “but it depends also on the World Cup and the pre-season. What is for sure is I will put all my strength and my soul to start at my best from the beginning.
“Football is most technical is Spain and most physical in England. In Italy it is a mix of everything so I am prepared for everything. I am happy to face the new challenge.
“I consider myself a striker but my first thought always is to think about the team because I want to settle in the team in the best possible way – learn the language, learn the other players, follow the strategy of the coach. Always my thought is about the team and to make the team even stronger with my goals.”

Mourinho told Chelsea TV: “The signing is a great moment for Chelsea. He is one of the best players in the world in the last decade and I think the Chelsea players will receive him with open arms because they know when you want the next step, it must be with players of his dimension.
“A lot of people were speaking about Andriy to come and Didier Drogba to go but that was never, never, never the idea. They are two strikers with very different qualities. Andriy has creativity, speed with the ball, movement, intelligence, he is an amazing player. Didier is strong, powerful, a fighter, fantastic in creating spaces for other people to score.”
The manager reaffirmed he can see the two working as partners.
“Andriy has a lot of times played 4-4-2 in Milan like Chelsea do a lot of times with a diamond in midfield and two strikers.”
Chief executive Peter Kenyon, the man who negotiated the transfer confirmed the player had long been a target:
“Since my first conversation with José, he has always been on the list. I have spent every summer having discussions with Milan and I am delighted we have pulled it off this time.
“Selling Chelsea to him was fairly easy. He has had a great career at Milan and is up for another challenge. He sees the Premiership giving that and Chelsea the club that can fulfil his ambition. The difficult part was doing a deal with Milan.
“This demonstrates Chelsea are operating at the top level because he is recognised as probably the best striker in Europe, and he comes from a massive club in Milan.”

[06/01] Lampard: 'A Fantastic Signing'

Chelsea midfielders Frank Lampard and Joe Cole believe the signing of striker Andrei Shevchenko showed the English champions are moving forward.
Shevchenko, who will captain Ukraine at the World Cup finals, was signed from AC Milan on Wednesday for a fee estimated at 30 million pounds.
“It’s a fantastic signing,” Lampard told reporters on Thursday. “He’s certainly one of the best if not the best striker over the past five years in Europe and a fantastic addition to the squad.
“The past few years we’ve been doing that every summer—trying to rebuild, trying to bring in the right players, the players we need to improve our squad.”
Shevchenko’s arrival follows that of Germany skipper Michael Ballack on a free transfer from Bayern Munich.
“It’s a great message for Chelsea fans, that we keep moving forward,” Lampard said.
“Everyone knows we are a very hungry club and have very hungry players. Everything we’re involved in will be open to win and having players like Shevchenko coming into the squad will hopefully help that.”
Cole, who like Lampard is with England preparing for the World Cup, also felt the club had made a statement by bringing on board the former European Footballer of the Year.
“I’m looking forward to playing with him and hopefully making him a few goals,” he said.
“It’s a step in the right direction for the club…and alongside Ballack it’s two major stars at the peak of their careers.”
Chelsea did not reveal the fee but said it broke the club record of 25.98 million pounds paid to Olympique Lyon for Ghana midfielder Michael Essien last August.
The west London club also signed Ivory Coast striker Salomon Kalou from Feyenoord for an undisclosed fee on Tuesday.

[06/01] Ballack Excited to Team up with Sheva

Germany captain Michael Ballack has expressed his excitement at the prospect of playing alongside Andriy Shevchenko for Chelsea next season.
Ukraine skipper Shevchenko has joined Chelsea from AC Milan in an estimated £30m (€43.7m) transfer, which will spearhead the club’s attack in the Barclays Premiership and Champions League.
Ballack was full of praise for the 29-year-old, who has been a prolific scorer in Europe and Serie A for several seasons.
Speaking at Germany’s World Cup training camp in Dusseldorf, Ballack said: “I am very happy to play with him next year. He is a great player and I am really excited.
“I have not been in touch with him over the transfer and have not spoken to him since.
“I will wait until after the World Cup to get started with such things.”
England and Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard also welcomed Shevchenko’s arrival at Stamford Bridge, hailing the transfer as a “great buy”.
Lampard added: “He is a fantastic striker, the top striker in world football over the last five, six or seven years for his consistency of goalscoring.
“I’ve enjoyed watching him and he’s the sort of player you love to have in your team. It’s a great buy for us.”

[06/02] Sheva Continue Wearing No. 7

Andriy Shevchenko looks set to wear the number seven shirt next season after José Mourinho indicated the player can continue with number he has sported for many seasons.
“He will have his loved number seven in a Chelsea shirt,” confirmed his new boss.
Chelsea’s new record signing made the squad number his own at AC Milan and it is also the shirt he wears for the Ukraine national side. So dear is it to him that his personal official website is titled www.sheva7.com
The squad number was last worn at Chelsea by the departed Maniche.

[06/02] 'I will Never Forget Italy'

New Chelsea signing Andriy Shevchenko has admitted that he will never forget his time in Italy.

The Ukrainian star left Milan this week for around £30m after spending seven successful seasons at the San Siro.

And he has reiterated his claim that the decision had little to do with football and plenty to do with his family.

“When you have a family, you must think about what is best for them,” insisted the 29-year-old.

“It was been very hard to make this make this decision. I’ll never forget Italy and I enjoyed my time there.”

But the former Dynamo Kiev ace was quick to dismiss claims that his only reason for leaving was due to his desire to learn English, as his wife is American.

“There has been a misunderstanding – I had several reasons for leaving,” he said.

“There are many things involved and by no means was it just the language. Now all I want to do is to concentrate on the World Cup.”

[06/02] Kalaze Disappointed to See Sheva Depart

Milan defender Kakha Kaladze has spoken of his disappointment at seeing Andriy Shevchenko depart the San Siro for Chelsea.

However, Kaladze was also quick to warn his former Rossoneri teammate that he may not find life in England as enjoyable as he did in Italy.

“We have lost a great champion and I have lost a great friend,” the Georgian international, who was teammates with Sheva in their days at Dynamo Kiev, told the Milan Channel.

“I am happy for him because I know he is content with the choice he has made.

“However, I don’t think it will be as easy to acclimatise in England,” he added.

“Here in Italy there is great hospitality and warmth, I believe that in countries like England and Germany people are colder. I don’t think that Andriy will feel the warmth he has done in Italy.”

Unlike Shevchenko’s Ukraine, Georgia failed to qualify for this summer’s World Cup.

Although Kaladze has been with his national side for friendly matches he is keen to get back to Italy and the domestic game as soon as possible.

“I am feeling the lack of Italian football, Milan, my friends and the fans,” he said. “But we have the obligation now to rest and to recharge ahead of next season.”

[06/02] Rush Delighted to See Sheva in Premiership

IAN RUSH insists Andriy Shevchenko’s £30.8million move to Chelsea comes with a guarantee of goals galore.

And the Liverpool legend reckons he has unwittingly put the boot into Chelski’s rivals by helping Shev on his road to stardom.

Rush was one of Europe’s most prolific strikers when he handed over a pair of top-of-the-range boots to a little kid raised behind the Iron Curtain.

The scrawny 13-year-old from Ukraine had just terrorised opponents at the Ian Rush Tournament in Aberystwyth, Wales. Fast-forward 16 years and the hitman boasts a record 52 Champions League goals.

And Rushie, 44, reckons there is no doubt Shevchenko’s predatory instincts will provide Jose Mourinho with the fire-power he has lacked in Europe.

He said: “Probably the one thing Chelsea have been lacking is an out and out goal scorer.

“Their main ambition next year will be to win the Champions League and they’ve bought Shevchenko to do that.

“I remember when I first met him. He was a little kid playing for Dinamo Kiev — but I recall he was top-scorer and voted player of the tournament.

“For his prize I presented him with a pair of Nike boots.

“I don’t remember too much about what we said to each other on the day. But a few years later we met again when I was playing for Newcastle in the Champions League against Kiev.

“He reminded me about when he played in the tournament — and told me he still had those boots!

“Now he’s going to be scoring goals for Chelsea and I will definitely go and watch him play. Whether it’s a game against Liverpool or not I don’t know but you always want to watch great players.

“I’ll go and shake his hand and remind him he owes me a pair of boots!”

Shevchenko, 29, loves recalling his first meeting with Rush and revealed he carried on using the boots long after they were worn out. The Ukraine ace said: “I played in them until my big toes poked through.

“I even tried to cover up the holes because I couldn’t buy new boots as nice as them. I treasured the boots. It meant such a lot because everyone in Ukraine knew about Ian Rush.”

Shevchenko hit 173 goals in seven years at AC Milan. And Rush believes the British record fee Chelsea paid to lure him away will not be a burden.

He said: “I don’t think the fee will be a problem for him. There was pressure on him in every game in Italy and he’s shown it’s not a problem.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how he gets on but one thing everyone can be sure about is he will score goals.”

06/02] Galliani: Sheva's Sale won't be Repeated

As for a subsitute for Shevchenko, Galliani said: ‘Shevchenko will be replaced with an equal, his sale was a one-off and won’t be repeated. If any club contacts our players we will report it to FIFA. This is a warning to any managers and the eventual president of Real Madrid. Our players are happy at Milan and if one is unhappy, as in Sheva’s case, after twenty years I have decided to change strategy. They will remain at Milan even if they are unhappy. Milan will be reinforced on June 15 when Silvio Berlusconi returns. It will be Berlusconi-Galliani who have guided Milanb for the next 20 years.’

[06/03] Kaka: 'I am Sorry Sheva Has Gone'

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported what Kakà had to say about the presumed interest Real Madrid are showing in the Brazilian: ‘At the moment I am just thinking about the World Cup but it’s always pleasing that a club like that would be interested. However, there has been no contact with me or my father, the only one who can talk about my future. I have a contract with Milan until 2010, everything I have read has been in the Spanish press.’

Ricky then talked about the scandal in Italian football: ‘I have been reading about it on the internet and I am a bit worried as this story looks like it will never finish, but you have to be optimistic that football will be cleaner.’

Then a word about Sheva: ‘I am sorry Sheva has gone because he is a top player and it would be great to still have him in the dressing room. However, it’s not true that I am angry with Milan and there is no fear that team will be changed, we’re talking about a top side and I am certain that another striker like Sheva will come in.’

.pissbottleman:
I OPET !!!!
