Here are STEPS (at least for v2.x The Bat and v0.8 TB)... I did this fast but I'm hoping it helps...MMV (mileage may vary)

** UNOFFICIAL The Bat v2.x -> Thunderbird v0.8 messages Import Dumdum Guide **

-= Within THUNDERBIRD side =-
1) We are all dumb somewhere...remember that!
2) Clean out the subfolder you want to drop your messages into (if it isn't already).

-= Within THE BAT side =-
1) Start up THE BAT.
2) Navigate to the folder you want to copy your messages from.
3) Pick the messages (important heh) so they are highlighted.
4) Top menu - TOOLS - EXPORT MESSAGES - UNIX MAILBOX
5) Pick a save location - I did file "tbinbox" as an example for my Bat Inbox
6) SAVE IT.

-= Neither Side =-
1) Navigate to that file (tinbox) and right click COPY.
2) Navigate to your Thunderbird folders. I'm gonna dump mine in my cleaned up Trash folder. Mine show up as Documents and Settings - <my user name> - Application Data - Thunderbird - Profiles - <some weird goofy
subdir here> - Mail - Local Folders - Trash.sbd. DROP the file there.

-= Within THUNDERBIRD side =-
1) Start up TB.
2) Wow, it created a tbinbox folder within Trash folder.
3) Click on that new tbinbox folder and then move your files to whatever folder you want.

Repeat ad nauseum or I'm sure you can just pre-create multiple folders if you want... "
