Russia May Soon Adopt ‘Future Soldier’ Gear – Rogozin

KOVROV, June 4 (RIA Novosti) – The Russian version of “future soldier” gear could be put into service with the armed forces in the near future, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said Tuesday.
Rogozin, who visited the privately owned Degtyarev small arms plant in central Russia, said the tests of domestically designed Ratnik (Warrior) gear had been completed.
“There are some issues with small arms that should be addressed in the near future, and after that the gear will be adopted by the army,” Rogozin said.
Ratnik comprises more than 40 components, including firearms, body armor and optical, communication and navigation devices, as well as life support and power supply systems, and even knee and elbow pads. The equipment can be used by regular infantry, rocket launcher operators, machine gunners, drivers and scouts.
Many other nations have similar future soldier equipment programs in progress, including the U.S. Land Warrior, Germany's IdZ, Britain's FIST, Spain's COMFUT, Sweden's IMESS and France's FELIN.
Rogozin stressed that the Russian gear would be superior in many ways to comparable NATO equipment.
“And we stand by our words,” he said.

“Kom obojci, kom opanci” izreka je koju bi se – barem dopola – i danas moglo primijeniti na rusku vojsku jer obojci se tamo još koriste, pa i dandanas novaci u vojsci nekadašnje supersile moraju prvo naučiti obuti se. Umjesto čarapa dobivaju komade tkanine – obojke – koje valja omotati oko nogu. Međutim, novi ruski ministar obrane Sergej Šojgu odlučio je modernizirati vojsku koja broji milijun vojnika i dva milijuna u pričuvi. Bit će to veliki posao ne samo za proizvođače čarapa nego i za tvornice obuće jer obuvanje čarapa znači i drugačije čizme.

MiG Signs Attack Drone R&D Contract

LUKHOVITSY, May 31 (RIA Novosti) – Russian military aircraft maker MiG is to go ahead with a research-and-development project for an unmanned combat air vehicle (UCAV) based on its Skat prototype, after signing a deal with the Industry and Trade Ministry earlier this month, the firm said Friday.
"We signed an R&D contract for UCAVs on May 15," said MiG's head, Sergei Korotkov. "The contract requirements include a mock-up for a future UCAV for the Defense Ministry. We are already ahead on this, based on our Skat program."
MiG unveiled a demonstrator model of its Skat drone at the MAKS airshow near Moscow in 2007. Skat is designed to carry out strike missions on stationary targets, especially air defense systems in high-threat areas, as well as mobile land and sea targets.
Skat will operate in autonomous modes as well as in conjunction with other manned systems, MiG says.
A "flying wing" design, Skat has a projected weight of 10 tons, a two-ton payload, a range of 2,500 miles (4,000 km), a speed of 500 mph (800 km/h) and a ceiling of 36,000 feet (12,000 m).
MiG also plans to sign a contract in June with the Defense Ministry for 37 MiG-35 multirole fighter jets, Korotkov said, with delivery of 24 of them to take place in "the near future."
The new fighters will include the Zhuk-A radar system, he said.

Kako je Rusija uvela ućutali se kao miševi.

A što se tiče Mig 35, biće kao i sa Su35, tresla se gora rodio se miš. Histerija, ushićenje, najbolje na svetu, a posle nekoliko proizvedenih primeraka, obustava u isporuci, ne zadovaoljavaju zatražene i obećavane standarde. Čak su i glave letele, smene generala...
