The public shock from the explicit outlines of the law on mobilisation is comparable to that in the beginning of the war, on the morning of 24.02.22.
Exactly the same collision with the reality of fragile crystal illusions put on "It just can't be".
Last night the country was reshaped.
Yesterday - the former Ukraine ended even formally.
It was offered a social contract:
- a much more repressive one,
- cementing a system that divides Ukrainians into classes.
Now, when the disabled and dwarfs will go to serve, and the entitled children of influential parents will not, the people's love for their state should spurt like leavening - and one day it will burst out.
The new law on mobilisation - built entirely on penalties without rewards, lopsided, exacerbating social inequality, poorly thought out in terms of consequences - is so toxic that the Official Telegram channels have already started shifting responsibility to the military.
And Zelensky started doing it even at the press conference.
No one wants to communicate this law - it means political death.
Even if this law is softened or postponed, the consequences of the shock cannot be washed away.
Consequences and - uncertainty about the future.
But there is one positive consequence of this shock.
It will now launch a whole wave of logos instead of pathos.
It turns out that when you cannot move quietly around the city without being subpoenaed and use your hard earned money without military registration, brains start to think.
About:
- the prospects of reaching the borders of '91,
- about the fundamental, perceptible difference between country, state and society,
- the difference between the legality and legitimacy of power,
- that maybe the elections weren't such a bad idea,
- the fact that the law on mobilisation is passed by the Rada, which has long outlived its authority,
- about how the Defence Forces train and use personnel,
- the real needs of the army,
- what is the meaning of this war as such, who really needs it, and how this meaning coincides with your personal meaning,
- what it really means to be a citizen,
- about the fact that the proposal to stop the war and start broad negotiations on a new security system in Europe, preventing any wars, may not be such a treacherous idea anymore.
You can see how many serious questions must now be starting to come to the minds of large numbers of people.
This is a good thing.
Logos, turning heads, is always progress in relation to pathos: all those blaring slogans, memes, images, chants and recitatives.
It's good to post about pig dogs on Facebook.
It is a bit different to go out for bread and three days later find yourself storming the trenches of these very "pig dogs" - barrel to barrel from ten metres away.
There, not here, open up real prospects to discuss the topic of historical correctness, offences, claims, Valuyev's decree, Thalerhof, aspirations to NATO and joining the EU, descent from the Mongols, and historical superiority.
We could also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the mobilisation systems of both sides.
There doesn't seem to be a sea of willing participants.

It will be a cry for the way we have been living, thinking and deciding all these thirty-two years.
For the fact that everything you knew about the world, your country and yourself, everything you knew about history and its laws - turned out to be a lie.
Everything you believed in, everything on the basis of which you built your life plans, career, hobbies, home, marriage and children - everything turned out to be erroneous.
For the fact that you now need to reconsider all your thirtytwo years of strategy, because it turned out to be a lie - to yourself.
