Russian Forces Took Control Of Novoselovskoe In Luhansk People’s Republic​

The Russian military celebrate the two-month anniversary of Kiev’s counter offensive with new victories on the Ukrainian frontlines. On August 5, the Russian Ministry of Defence reported that Russian forces had taken control of the village of Novoselovskoe in the Luhansk People’s Republic.

The Su-24MR aircraft of the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade (7th BrTA) are based at the Starokonstantinov airfield in the Khmelnytsky region, which was probably hit on August 5, Military Chronicle reports. This brigade is said to be the only air formation in Ukraine armed with Storm Shadow and SCALP cruise missiles.
According to the Military Chronicle, in addition to Starokonstantinov, in Ukraine there are about ten operating airfields with varying degrees of safety of the runway and airfield infrastructure.
“The length of the runway of most airfields allows the use of Su-24 aircraft. This will require additional security measures and complicate the implementation of sorties. The key difficulty in this sense will remain the airworthiness of the remaining aircraft, which are much more difficult to maintain and repair by the Armed Forces of Ukraine than ever. The loss of every aircraft of this type will complicate the use of Storm Shadow missiles, ” the message says .
