Донесена је одлука по спору Бугарске са ЕУ:-
Евро се мора штампати на Бугарском и то на Чирилици, а и да се у Европи прихвати И назив "ЕВРО" као равноправан са "ЕУРО"
Комисија је одлучила да Европа мора да прихвати писмо и језик који ј еБугарска унела у ЕУ.
Спопр је настао када ј еБугарска затражила да се Евро штампа и на Бугарском и да се званично зове - "Евро".
Прва реакција је бил анегативна са образложењем да се штампа само н алатиници и на Грчком, пошто већина европских земаља пише латиницом и има назив "ЕУРО".
Бугарска не само да је тражила Бугарски језик већ и свој назив на Бугарском- "ЕВРО"- и победила.
Bulgaria could not accept the fact that in its Bulgarian translation the word “Euro” was not written out as “evro.”
By signing this declaration the European Union for the first time acknowledged there is a problem between Bulgarian and the European institutions, focused around the spelling of the word “Euro” in the Cyrillic alphabet. Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev said that a compromise had been reached, that there was a problem between Bulgaria and the EU, which had to be solved fast, in the atmosphere of a dialogue between Bulgaria, the Portuguese chairmanship of the EU, the EU member states and the European Central Bank.
A work group has to be formed in order for the considerations of experts to be heard, he said, arguing that Bulgaria had reasons to put forward the issue, because the specifics of the Cyrillic alphabet as a new alphabet in the EU had not been taken into account. When asked whether Bulgaria could veto the new “amended contract” of the EU, should the problem not find a satisfactory solution, Stanishev said: “We have a good will to find a sensible solution. Bulgaria in no way wants to hinder the agreement for the new reformed contract.
