We have now received both the sponsorship application submitted by your family member in Canada and your application for permanent residence.
Processing Times:
Applications are processed in accordance with administrative processing priorities and the date of their receipt at this office. Applications for permanent residence in your immigration category may take 6 months or more to process. However, this is an estimate only. Processing times may vary, depending upon whether any additional documentation or an interview is required, the time required for medical examinations and changes in workload at this office.
When Do We Respond to Inquiries?
If you are a sponsored spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner or dependent child, we ask that you not request a status report on your file until at least six months have elapsed from the date the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga approved the sponsorship application. For all other sponsored members of the family class, we ask that you not request a status report until at least six months have elapsed since your completed application for permanent residence was sent to our office.
This office will not respond to representations or inquiries about your case received during this time frame.
Any information which you provide us such as documents or address changes will be put on your file but no acknowledgement will be sent. This will enable us to concentrate on working on our files and reducing processing times.
Checking the Status of Your Application On Line:
On line e-client application status (e-CAS) Pathfinder service is now available to check the status of your application, on-line, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To use this e-CAS pathfinder service, visit the
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/index.html page of the CIC main site

When do Service Standards Not Apply?
If we request additional documentation from you it is your responsibility to reply as quickly as possible, or processing may not continue. If you add or delete dependants from your application we may request additional documentation, increasing processing time. We are not responsible for delays caused by problems in communication between the applicant and their lawyer, agent, or sponsor in Canada.
