a jel?
Genre and influences
The level of experimentation[3] and the stylistic variations during Meshuggah's career have made their music difficult to describe.
Their music mixes elements and influences from a wide variety of genres such as thrash metal,[4] death metal,[5][3] jazz fusion,[6] and math rock.[4] This has made them difficult to categorize, prompting the press to describe them with several different genre handles, among them
experimental metal,[7] extreme metal,[8] post-thrash metal,[8] progressive metal,[9] math metal[9] and technical death metal.[7][10][11]
Bands such as Metallica, Deftones, Dream Theater, God Forbid[12], Gojira,[13] Lacuna Coil, Lamb of God, Mushroomhead, The Dillinger Escape Plan and Tool[14][15] have cited Meshuggah as an influence.
In the insert booklet of Destroy Erase Improve, the band notes musical inspirations such as Metallica, Death, Cynic, Slayer, Megadeth but also non-metal artists like Tori Amos, Björk, Steely Dan, Earth, Wind & Fire, Nirvana, Rush, Primus and Mike Oldfield.
A Life Once Lost cites Meshuggah's album "Nothing" as a great inspiration for their newest album, Iron Gag.
In the Contradictions Collapse booklet, the band thanks "all the music of the world for inspiration!"
toliko o muzici koju sviraju...!
