I pored toga sto je gomila stranih kompanija ulozila u Srbiju zbog bescarinskog odnosa sa Rusijom, poptu Tarketa ili Stade, vlast SNS je 2014 kod prvih sankcija zapada prema Rusiju ogranicivala izvoz ka Rusiji da se ne zameri zapadu na ogromnu stetu Srbije.
Dana 23. avgusta 2014. je Vucic napravio konferenciju za medije gde je rekao da ne zeli da iskoristi sankcije EU prema Rusiji da bi Srbija povecala izvoz poljoprivrednih proizvoda u Rusiju.
