U centru Minska, pored rezidencije Lukasenka:

Seven people are believed dead and over 70 others injured in an explosion which also created a huge crater in a pedestrian tunnel between two metro stations in the centre of the Belarusian capital Minsk.

Black smoke is billowing from the entrances, as passengers, many bloodied, in torn clothes and even barefoot, are scrambling to leave the scene of the tragedy.

Dozens of ambulances and emergency vehicles are currently at the scene as Special Services are already investigating the incident.

President Alexander Lukashenko has called an emergency meeting in his official residence, which is located a stone’s throw from the site of the blast.

“The station is just 50 metres from my apartment in Minsk. Minutes after noticing an armada of ambulances and fire trucks, I got word of casualties in an emergency at the Oktiabrskaya station. I saw people leaving and could observe black smoke billowing from the entrances. The station was subsequently closed. There is the official residence of President Alexander Lukashenko within 200 metres, and many say they suspect a terror attack. There are no official accounts of the incident. The main street is shut, there are no vehicles in it except buses travelling in only one direction. All rush-hour commuters in the area are walking on foot. The metro line stays closed.”
