    "Error: "LU6002: LiveUpdate could not process the update . . . "

    Situation:
When you run LiveUpdate, you see the message "LU6002: LiveUpdate could not process the update. LiveUpdate was not able to extract the update files. Verify that your disk is not full and that you have sufficient access rights on this machine. It is recommended that only users with Power User or Administrator rights run LiveUpdate."

    Solution:
This happens if there was a problem when the LiveUpdate program attempted to unzip one of the downloaded files. This may occur if the file was corrupted during the download process, possibly by a firewall or firewall software.

The most common causes for the problem are as follows:
You have an older version of LiveUpdate or LiveUpdate is damaged
Firewall is blocking file or stripping its contents
    File-compression utilities
Corrupted files within the Downloads folder
    Resource problems
AOL 5.0 set to decompress automatically

Before attempting to fix this, we suggest that you wait one hour or so, and then run LiveUpdate again.

    Notes:
This has also been reported on Windows XP computers where the user was logged into an account that had permission's set to "limited." If you are using Windows XP, log in using an Administrator account, and run LiveUpdate again.

If you are an enterprise customer and you use internal servers for LiveUpdate and also use proxy servers, first read the Technical Information section near the bottom of this page.

To fix this, we suggest that you read the solutions that follow in the order that they appear.

You have an older version of LiveUpdate or LiveUpdate is damaged
To fix this, download and install the current version of LiveUpdate. This should be tried first because it is the easiest solution.

To get the current version of LiveUpdate
Go to the LiveUpdate files download page.
In the updates and patches table, there are two files that you can use to install LiveUpdate:
    lusetup-lt.exe
Most home users should install this version of LiveUpdate.
    lusetup.exe
This is full version of LiveUpdate. It includes enterprise-management features that may be used on a managed corporate network. Most users of Symantec enterprise products should install this version of LiveUpdate.
    Click either lusetup-lt.exe or lusetup.exe.
Save the file to the Windows desktop.
After the download has finished, double-click the lusetup-lt.exe or lusetup.exe icon on the desktop to install LiveUpdate.
After the installation has finished, run LiveUpdate to download available updates.
Restart the computer if you are asked to do so. You may have to run LiveUpdate more than once to get all available updates.

Firewall is blocking file or stripping its contents
Some firewall programs block downloaded files or even remove the contents of the file. If your computer or your network uses a firewall, we suggest that you configure the firewall to allow LiveUpdate to access the Internet and download files.

See your firewall software for information on how to configure the firewall to allow applications to function. Some commonly used firewall programs include Black Ice Defender, Zone Alarm, Sygate, and McAfee Firewall.

How to find out whether the file contents were removed
Some firewalls that remove the contents of a downloaded file insert text into the file. To find out whether this happened on your computer, open the file Livetri.zip with any text editor. If the file appears to be empty or the file has an administrative message in it such as "Site access restricted. Your network administrator has blocked access to this site," then a firewall program or similar program is preventing the file from downloading correctly.

How to find out whether the Java Script options are causing the problem
Cases have been reported where the firewall rules were set to deny Java Scripts from running. If your firewall has such a setting, try setting it to allow Java Scripts, and run LiveUpdate again.

    File-compression utilities
Certain file-compression utilities, such as NetZip and ZipMagic, include a feature that allows the user to view .zip files as folders. This feature causes LiveUpdate not to recognize Livetri.zip, which contains the list of available updates. If NetZip or ZipMagic is installed on the computer, please refer to the appropriate document:
Error: "LiveUpdate cannot read the list of new updates" with NetZip installed on your computer
Error: "LiveUpdate cannot read the list of new updates" with ZipMagic installed on your computer

Note: For ZipMagic users: It has been reported by customers (but not confirmed by Symantec Technical Support) that OnTrack technical support has suggested disabling "Show Zip Folders" from the system tray Zip Magic icon. For instructions on how to do the, read your ZipMagic documentation.

Corrupted files within the Downloads folder
The \Symantec\LiveUpdate folder contains settings and configuration files for LiveUpdate, and one or more subfolders. One of these folders is \Downloads. In some cases, the files or subfolders in the \Downloads folder may be damaged.

The location of the \Symantec\LiveUpdate folder is dependent on, and will differ with, the operating system. Some typical locations are:
    C:\Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate
    C:\Windows\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate
    C:\Windows\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate
    C:\Windows\Profiles\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate

WARNING: Do not delete the entire \Symantec\LiveUpdate folder, the Product.Catalog.LiveUpdate file, or the Product.Inventory.LiveUpdate file If you do this, you must reinstall all Symantec products for LiveUpdate to work properly.

To delete the contents of the \Downloads folder
    Start Windows Explorer.
Click the View menu (Windows 95/98/NT) or the Tools menu (Windows Me/2000/XP), and then click Options or Folder options.
    Click the View tab.
Uncheck "Hide file extensions for known file types."
    Do one of the following:
Windows 95/NT. Click "Show all files."
Windows 98. In the Advanced settings box, under the "Hidden files" folder, click Show all files.
Windows Me/2000/XP. Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and under the "Hidden files" folder, click "Show hidden files and folders."
Click Apply, and then click OK.
    Close Windows Explorer.
Click Start, point to Find or Search, and then click Files or Folders.
Make sure that "Look in" is set to (C) and that Include subfolders is checked.
In the "Named" or "Search for..." box, type--or copy and paste--the following:

    downloads

Click Find Now or Search Now. The results are displayed in the right or the bottom pane. You may find more than one. The folder that you are looking for is the one whose path ends in \LiveUpdate.

    Double-click that folder.
Delete any files or folders that are contained in the \LiveUpdate\Downloads folder. In most cases these will be Autoupdt.trg and Livetri.zip. There may be one or more folders as well. Delete them all.
    Run LiveUpdate again.

    Resource problems
If there is not enough free hard drive space to decompress the Livetri.zip file, you may experience this error. Please read the document How to configure Windows 95/98/Me for optimal use of system resources.

AOL 5.0 set to decompress automatically
AOL 5.0 has an option to decompress downloads automatically; having this enabled can cause this problem. To disable this feature, follow these steps:
    Click My AOL.
    Click Preferences.
    Click Download.
    Uncheck Automatically decompress.

    Technical Information:
If you are an enterprise customer, and you use internal servers for LiveUpdate, and you also use proxy servers to connect to the Internet, this may apply to you.

LiveUpdate uses Windows Internet Settings. If your internal LiveUpdate server is not listed in the proxy bypass list, you will see the LU6002 error.

    Do one of the following:
In Control Panel, click the LiveUpdate icon, and make sure that LiveUpdate is not using a proxy server.
Add the internal server to your proxy bypass list in Control Panel: Click the Internet Options icon, and on the Connections tab, click Settings."

To je bilo na on line help-u. Međutim nije ništa pomoglo.
Ako neko ima pojma šta bi to moglo da bude, nek mi javi!!!
