Indian real estate developer Embassy Group said it decided to postpone a EUR 429 million (USD 550 million) investment in a new IT business centre in Indjija, a municipality located between Belgrade and Novi Sad, due to the global crisis.

The move followed Italian Fiat Group's decision to put off its EUR 200 million investment in Serbia's car maker Zastava due to the international financial crisis that has hit the car industry.

Serbian government and Fiat have formed a joint venture, Fiat Automobili Srbija (FAS), which will take over the assets of Zastava’s production facilities in Kragujevac, 100 kilometres southwest of Belgrade, with annual production of some 15.000 Punto cars.
