ne diraj dacho reu.............: After a general introduction, a brief account on the fetal tissue transplantation as a therapeutic method for various diseases and a concise description of the Prkinson's disease and its pathogenesis, the transplantation of the fetal mesencephalic tissue as a treatment for parkinsonism is reviewed in more detail, including a critical evaluation of its efficiency. In the second part of the article the procedure is evaluated from the ethical standpoint. The items are: basis for the ethical judgment, definition of the fetal death, inducement for abortion, right for consent, complicity, regulation by law, outlook for an acceptable solution. As a conclusion, the fetal brain transplantation as a cure for human parkinsonism is qualified as scientifically illfounded, medically unefficient and morally unacceptable, with serious social consequences in view.
