Ambassador of Norway to Serbia, Hakon Blankenborg, said that it may be hard to repeal Norway’s recognition of Kosovo but said that Norway is awaiting the decision on the recognition from the World Court and because of that it has voted at the UN for the World Court examination of the issue/
“Norway voted for the independence of Kosovo, but understanding how complicated of a question that is we voted at the General Assembly in UN for the case to go to the International Court of Justice in the Hague,” Blankenborg told Serbian daily Vecernje Novosti.
Blankenborg said that that it is very hard to “go back” on Kosovo recognition but “we are waiting for the decision of the court”.
Blankenborg said that “in the meantime, the most important is that institutions are doing all that covers the six points” agreed to by the UN, EU and Serbia to be implemented in Kosovo.
Blankenborg said that the question of Kosovo is “partly political and partly legal”.
Blankenborg said that Serbia has achieved a great deal recently to promote its position on the issue.
