Project Support Engineer

IBM Integrated Technology Delivery (ITD) Outsourcing Infrastructure Solutions (OIS) requires Project Support Engineers for its European Data Centre Operations team. This team manages the strategy and operations of 117 data centres across Europe including ten strategic data centre campuses. These data centres are characterized by complex electrical and mechanical engineering infrastructure, in a redundant configuration for high resiliency, supporting highly critical raised floor facilities servicing IBM's key Strategic Outsourcing (SO) customers. Data Centres are the engine of IBM's business and uninterrupted operations are of paramount importance. The new roles described represent a key element in the area of quality of data centre management. The successful candidates will be motivated, resourceful, creative and able to work with different groups within the wider organsiation who are involved in different aspect of data centre activities.

The Key aspects of the Role

•Problem Management & Resolution. Driving root cause analyses, defining and managing short & long term corrective action plans, compiling status reports and coordinating activities of all involved parties.
•Crisis Response. Immediate support in the event of any data dentre event to ensure proper reporting and coordination on the ground as well as executive communications and participation as a key member of the crisis team.
•Data Analysis. Analysis of data centre metrics, reporting summary conclusions and recommendations.
•Change Management. Managing the change approval process at a European level, coordinating and validating input, expediting responses and confirming decisions.
•Quality Management. Collating and analysing performance data to be presented as formal quality metrics.
•Other Projects. Project Managing other inititiaves arising within data centre operations; for example, implementing pan-European investigations or remedial activities and expediting to successful conclusions.
It is likely that Candidates will be assigned specific group of IMT to focus their scope.

Candidate profile
•Is a recent graduate with a good Engineering Degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, or possibly Mechanical Engineering.
•Has an understanding and/or experience of engineering infrastructure installations.
•Has an appreciation of electrical power engineering system fundamentals and their practical applications, eg. MV circuits, transformers, static switches, UPS, generators.
•Has an appreciation of mechanical systems fundamentals and their practical applications; eg. cooling system chillers and condensers, motor generators
•Understands the basics of change management and planned maintenance.
•Can perform data analysis and create reports and presentations using MS tools.
•Is a good communicator with good English language skills.

Da upozorim sve koji bi mogli ovo procitati:

IZBEGAVAJTE Manpower po svaku cenu.

Sve je to lepo uvijeno u divne reklamne papirice, ali je istina daleko od toga.
Jako su neorganizovani, neodgovorni i kako jos reci .. jednostavno lazu.

Potrudice se da vam zamazu oci pricom, dovesce vas u Cesku, jer im trebaju ljudi a onda pocnete da shvatate koliko preje*a je tu bilo.

Prvo, doci cete u smestaj koji je gori nego na nekakvoj ekskurziji, a koji pritom nije cheap. da citiram:

Sta to znaci? Dobicete sobu, koja je jedno 20 kvadrata koju cete deliti sa jos nekim, i to po 'mizerno niskoj' ceni od oko 160 EUR ( s tim sto cete u prva tri meseca biti prijatno iznenadjeni da je ta cifra uvecana na oko 200 EUR zbog depozita?).
Za tih 160 eura dobijete ... KREVET! Nije li super?
A tu sobu delite sa jos nekim, tako da dve osobe placaju jednu sobu u stanu 320 eura otprilike. Ako to nije povoljno - ne znam sta je. (nadam se da se uvidja sarkazam).
Primetili ste da ne pricam o kuhinji, ili odvojenom kupatilu?

Posle toga cete se naci u problemu sa svim ostalim aspektima.
Shvaticete da je plata koju ste dogovorili sa Manpowerom u stvari 2 do 3 PUTA manja od plata ostalih koji rade na istim (ili losijim) radnim mestima u kompaniji.

Takodje ce vam bosti oci to sto su vas testirali kao da cete raditi ne znam kakvu svemirsku nauku, da biste dosli bukvalno na majmunski posao, posto je kolicina testiranja koju Manpower sprovodi, tu samo zbog toga sto oni zele da drze do ugleda da uvek 'imaju visokostrucni kadar' na raspolaganju.
To sto taj kadar kao takav nikome ne treba - pa sad, koga je to briga.

Ako i posle svega ovoga zelite da odete da redite nesto preko MPW-a, budite spremni na dosta nervoze.

Moj predlog je - izaberite Natek, ili probajte direktno za IBM.
Iako sam cuo da ljudi koji idu direktno preko IBM-a imaju malo problema oko organizacije dolaska u CZ, iz prakse ovde sam video da je mnogo lakse napredovati u okviru kompanije ako ste IBMer, i da mnogo lakse neke stvari mogu da se poguraju ako dodje kasnije do problema.
Sto se Nateka tice, za sad nisam cuo da se bilo ko zali. Kada bih ja mogao da biram opet, to bi definitivno bilo nesto od ova dva.
Manpower je ... pa nemam reci kojima bih mogao to dovoljno dobro opisati.
recimo - sranje?

Nadam se da ce ovo nekome pomoci da se ne zaje*e.
